Sydney Ball is an engaged professional with high standards of excellence who quickly adapts to dynamic and changing environments. She began her entrepreneurship journey at age 10 when she started Woosha Wears, a home accent and gift business selling to retailers across the southeast.
She studied Corporate Management and Entrepreneurship at Lipscomb University, finishing in two and a half years as Valedictorian of her undergraduate class.
She worked for Pruduential Corporation Asia (Hong Kong, China), POLITICO (Washington, D.C.), and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company (Amelia Island, Florida) on short-term contracts before coming back to Nashville to complete her MBA at Lipscomb, where she focused her studies on Leadership.
As a Tennessee business leader, Sydney's career has been centered on her ability to connect with people and build cohesive, dynamic teams. She was named a Nashville Business Journal's Woman of Influence (2023) and a 40 Under 40 Award Receipient (2021). She is also a West Tennessee Sterling Award recipient, an honor given to the 20 most influential women in West Tennessee (2019).
Sydney worked for First Citizens National Bank (FirstCNB), a mid-size community bank ($2+ billion) as their Regional Business Development Manager. Her role involved helping executive leadership develop strategies and implement operational changes to establish a brand presence for a legacy, rural bank in a growing, metropolitan marketplace. Helping onboard teammates through a successful M&A, she established the Mangement Training Program and built the community-based Middle Tennessee Smart Women Financial Literacy program, both of which are interictal components of FirstCNB today.
She went on to serve as a consultant with NFP, an Aon Company, launching the healthcare segmentation of the Executive Benefits Division as a pilot program for the organization emphasizing recruitment and retention of top talent. Consulting relationships in this environment blended finance and human resource management. Discretionary compensation and benefits packages for C-Suite executives were mapped approaching challenges from a place of strategic problem solving, creative design solutions, and collaboration.
Sydney is a licensed Life and Health Insurance provider in the State of Tennessee. She also carries her National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) Nonqualified Plan Consultant Certification.
Sydney has a desire to impact those in her sphere of influence, beyond her professional pursuits. She is actively involved in charitable organizations through serving with Kirkland Cancer Center (Advisory Board Member), Lipscomb University's College of Business Alumni Board (Board Member), Orlando World Outreach Center (Board Member), Rocketown (Chair of Patrons' Party, Board Member), and West Tennessee Healthcare Hospice Home (Advisory Board Member). She is also an active volunteer and committee member with Centerstone and Nashville Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition (NAHT). She is an alumnus of The Young Leaders Council, Leadership Franklin, Leadership Brentwood, and Leadership Middle Tennessee.
